Serial doses of genistein were added to bacterial cultures (1×107 CFU/mL) in 96-well plates and incubated for 48 hr. The growth of bacteria was determined by measuring the optical density (OD) of the cultures at 600 nm. Data are means±standard deviation of triplicate wells. Similar results were obtained in two other independent experiments. The asterisk indicates significant difference (p<0.05) compared to without genistein.
